The Chairman, Imo State Stakeholders UK/Ireland, Chief Charles Anyanwu has hailed the Imo State Election Tribunal on its latest verdicts in Abuja, between Mr. Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance, AA, Senator Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, asking the court to nullify the election of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of the People’s Democratic Part, PDP, stating he was unlawfully declared as the governor of the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Before this verdict that dismissed the three petitions from these parties, the state had been thrown into severe tension to know the outcome of the matter in the court, as the matter had been viewed as an impediment for the governor to focus on the development of the state in which the people of the state had been yelling for.

Chief Anyanwu hailed the judiciary for the verdict and described the court as the last hope of the common man.

He said, “the Imo State Stakeholders UK/Ireland want to use this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Executive Governor of Imo State for his victory at the tribunal during last week the petitions were dismissed in the court”.

He said, the Imo state stakeholders see the victory as a victory for the whole of the people of Imo state, and also used the opportunity to welcome back the group’s leader, Chief Uzonna Udemba to the UK for a crucial meeting of the group to discuss the matters for the good of the state.

Chief Udemba is presently working with the Government of His Excellency, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha under the Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs headed by Chief Mayor Ezeh.

The group extended its greetings to the Special Adviser to the Governor on the Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, Chief Mayor Ezeh, (Ikenga na Orlu) for accommodating and working with the group’s leader, Chief Uzonna Udemba, and said, “we have no doubt you will make Imo state proud”.

As the Chairman of Imo state Stakeholders UK/Ireland, he said, “I will not fail to thank the people of Imo state for strongly being behind His Excellency Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha and his rebuild Imo programmes since they took over the steering of Imo state”.

He said, “Imo stakeholders UK/Ireland have always supported and campaigned for the governor under the ImoUK4Ihedioha/Irona from its primaries till today”.

He said, “Our objective in the Imo State Stakeholders is to see and ensure that the welfare of the people of Imo state is prioritised and primary in the state”.

He used this opportunity to encourage and applaud His Excellency for the structure of good governance, accountability and transparency his government has put in place in the state.

He advised the Governor to put into consideration the renovation of all the abandoned water reservoirs in the various parts of the state, and said, this will not only create jobs and revenue for the state, but will also enhance the health and hygienic standard of the people.

According to the group’s Spokesman, Hon. Ejike Ikezuagu, he described, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as a politician with a difference, who understands politics, respecting the rule of law and focusing on the matters to improve the lives of the people.

Hon. Ikezuagu said, he rates Ihedioha “Excellent” in making the various government parastatals and departments to be more functional and productive for the development of the state, unlike the previous government under Chief Rochas Okorocha who dominated all the sectors by his “sole powers” that frustrated the human and capital development of the state.

He said, it will be a taboo to embark on such again in the state. He commended Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha for his approaches in developing the state, asking the people of the state at home and in diasporas to contribute in making the state a “cynosure” to be envied by other states.

He requested the governor to open a liaison office for the people of Imo state living in the United Kingdom which will be a part of gateway of development for the state.

He said, “there are a lot of resources to tap from the Imolites in the UK, but they only need the right channel to deliver their potentials for the state”.

He said, such Liaison Office will be an official channel to communicate with the government for the development of the state, the group’s Spokesman concluded.
