If you don’t absorb the experience of the Diaspora people in your government, you will be making the same mistake of past governments by recycling the same category of pen-pushers that has not done very well in the past for our state, PDP UK Chapter said.

In a congratulatory message to the Imo State Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Imo PDP UK Chapter expressed their pleasure on the outcome of the governorship election last March in Imo state as Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha won the poll and sworn in on the 29th May 2019 as the state governor.

The group coordinator, Nze Chukwuma Obidike said, “the result and subsequent victory over more or less half-baked impractical litigations has laid to rest any doubts your decriers have that your mission is predestined by God as ratified by the people”.

On launching IMO PDP UK Chapter, they group said, they have unflinchingly supported the governor’s fundamental move which was hoped will grow into a colossal edifice that can unite all Imo State citizens in the UK Diaspora into supporting the governor’s candidature and working towards the final goal; a job they did marvelously, as the results have shown.

According to the PDP UK, they said, “we did this, wishing to assist the government in working with all Imo indigenes in UK to embrace projects beneficial to the state and also to maintain a solid communication channel with your government.

They further stated that their backing for His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha was evident during the electioneering campaign when, the group’s coordinator, Nze Chukwuma Obidike and Lady Chika Duru, President, Imo PDP UK Chapter led a delegation of eight of their members who were able to return home at the heat of the plebiscite leaving their comfort zone in the UK, not minding the risks involved in every stumping and remained till the result was returned.

According to Nze Obidike, he said, “we embarked on ‘door to door’ campaign in our respective LGAs, explaining and advising our people on the importance of voting for you because we are aware of your good intentions for our dear state which has suffered eight years of enormous maladministration and wanton disregard for the rule of law in the hands of Owelle Rochas Okorocha led APC government”

The group’s effort for the governor during the campaign can be attested by His Excellency’s appointed Diaspora coordinator, Chief Charles Anyanwu and Rt. Hon Uche Onyeagucha, who was recently appointed as the SSG who has been guiding, advising and working with them inexorably. Nze Obidike maintained that with the governor’s victory, he has not disappointed, judging from his actions, utterances and declarations so far. The group is heartened and over-joyed when victorious, and he chose UK as the first port of thank you call, confirming to their members to what esteem the governor holds their contributions which included several newspapers paid publications, jingles, social media and direct telephone sessions to prospective and wavering voters.

The group expressed their pains how taken aback they were, when on arriving UK the entirety of Imo PDP UK Chapter was blanked out of all activities at this historic visit and even in the governor’s speeches and discuss, people he thanked, were not worthy of recognition.

They said, “we who were anchored from on-set and have been championing your candidature, over-night became the laughing stock of those who were two timing standing on a spot like a pendulum pole waiting for which part will win ended up being the people you embraced against us. It pained us a lot that our wounded pride took over and we collectively boycotted the event completely”

They further said, “just as it happened when we returned home in Imo state to campaign for you, we paid for our flights to return home again this time around for the inauguration; we are paying for our own accommodation and up-keep in Owerri to show that we have gone beyond that little blip in our relationship with you”

In pushing all the aforementioned at the back burner, the group wish to avail themselves of this opportunity of reacquainting and renewing their relationship with the governor to reiterate their support and highest consideration to His Excellency.

They said, “what we desire of your Excellency is to engage with people from Diaspora not just as a gateway to the much-needed foreign investment into our economy, but also as valued partners in the management and administration of the state.

In clarifying their point, they are assured that if he gives 30% of positions to people from the Diaspora who are tested technocrats and professionals as commissioners and in other vital administrative roles like in the areas of Security Waste Management and Alternative Energy sources, the difference will be clear. Nze Obidike said.

He continued, “If you don’t absorb the experience of the Diaspora people in your government, you will be making the same mistake of past governments by recycling the same category of pen-pushers that has not done very well in the past for our state”, the group said.

Ultimately, PDP UK Chapter assures the governor of their maximum support, sustenance and considerations as he seeks to rebuild and make Imo state and the great party PDP great again.

In the same vein, Nze Chukwuma Obidike extends his congratulatory message to Hon. Uche Onyeagucha who was recently appointed as the Imo State SSG. Nze Obidike described the position as a “powerful one”, regarding the scope of rebuilding needed in the state, a relic of the previous administration. He prayed for the God to give him the strength and wisdom to accomplish it. He said, “I know you have the ability to achieve, it might not be what you set out for initially, but in God’s infinite wisdom, we find solace, the future is pregnant”.

Nze Obidike will be leaving Owerri by Monday morning to Lagos, and he said to Hon, Onyeagacho “should we not meet again, before I leave, I wish you a Happy birthday to you and great regards to your family, Obidike concluded.
